Homeowners at Heron Bay Golf and Country Club, a unique master-planned community in Locust Grove, will have a chance to try some of Henry County’s best culinary delights at this year’s Taste of Henry event. Held in partnership with Visit Henry County and the city of McDonough, this event offers area residents and visitors a chance to taste delicacies ranging from appetizers, main course meals and desserts from more than 25 local restaurants.
In addition to being able to sample everything from upscale gourmet fare to down-home southern cooking, this year’s event will feature live music, a kid’s zone and Very Important Taster treat bags for the first 500 attendees through the door. While you’re there, be sure to vote for the People’s Choice Award, which is one of the five awards that participants will be competing for. The other awards include Best Presentation, Best Sweets, Rookie of the Year and the Kid’s Choice Award, which is presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Be prepared to indulge for a good cause, as 100 percent of the ticket proceeds for the Taste of Henry event benefit A Friend’s House, Henry County’s home for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors aged 65 and older, $5 for children ages 3 through 12 and free for children under the age of 3. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door the day of the event.
This year’s Taste of Henry event will be held Friday, April 18 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Jason T. Harper Event Center at Heritage Park in McDonough. For more information, visit www.TasteofHenry.org.
