Gardening Popular at Brookhaven at Johns Creek

Active Adult Home at Brookhaven at Johns CreekWhen it comes to choosing the house for your retirement years, you must make sure you do your research and find a home that will provide you with the lifestyle you are seeking. Dick and Madeline Treaster understand how important it was to find the perfect active adult home when they decided to relocate from Douglasville to an active adult community, so they made sure to visit every active adult community they could throughout the metro Atlanta area. While many homes they viewed would have been adequate, Dick said he was looking for a community that offered a little more. And he found all that he was looking for and more at Brookhaven at Johns Creek by Jim Chapman Communities.

What really caught Dick’s eye about the community was the Garden Center available for resident use. Dick is an avid gardener, in fact, he has even developed the reputation amongst his friends and family as a “Mr. Green Thumb.”

Dick spends at least a half hour everyday in the garden. To date he has planted sweet corn, green beans, yellow beans, onions, red beets, zucchini, five different types of cucumbers and eight different varieties of tomatoes. He has also created a bed for growing gourds for the community’s birdhouse. He has created a bed solely dedicated to growing herbs including mint, cilantro, basil, dill, and oregano. His flower garden has also recently expanded. In addition to a variety of ivy and vine flowers, Dick has also seen one of his more than four varieties of sunflowers grow to 12-feet.

Just like the Treasters, you are sure to be impressed with everything that Brookhaven at Johns Creek has to offer. An exceptional location, homes designed and built with the active adult in mind and fantastic amenities are only one part of what makes this North Fulton County community so extraordinary.
