The Tower Garden & Seedling Workshop in Cumming is not your average Gardening 101 tutorial, teaching conventional horizontal dirt gardening. Instead, attendees of the workshop will learn how to grow delicious fruits and vegetables using a tower garden, a vertical, dirtless method of gardening that takes up 90 percent less space than traditional dirt gardens, making it ideal for small spaces like decks, balconies and roofs. The Tower Garden & Seedling Workshop will be at the ALT Urban Farms Facility in Cumming on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m.
The workshop will teach attendees more about how tower gardens work, explaining what to plant and how and when to harvest the bounty. Cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple, and the ATL Urban Farms Facility is located at 6976 Frix Rd., Cumming, Ga. 30028, just 25 minutes northwest of Brookhaven at Lanier Ridge. If you are not already a resident, feel free to stop by the community on your way to or from the Tower Garden workshop.
