Forsyth County Schools Receive Grant
Forsyth County Schools recently received a $10,000 grant from the Georgia Baptist Convention Foundation. One of only 51 grants distributed by the Georgia Baptist Convention Foundation, the competition for grants this year was highly competitive with more than 100 applications submitted to the Foundation. Forsyth County Schools plan to use the funds to support students through the district’s mentoring and bully prevention programs.
The largest employer in Forsyth County, the school system currently serves more than 34,000 students. The district is home to 34 schools – 19 elementary, nine middle, five high schools, as well as the Academies for Creative Education (A.C.E) that houses Gateway Academy, the alternative school for middle and high school students, Forsyth Academy, a charter non-traditional high school, and Academy@Night.
