Forsyth County Attracts the Young and Wealthy
The Nielsen Company recently released a very interesting list that ranks the top 10 Counties of the young and wealthy. The young and wealthy are households aged 25 – 34 with an income of over $100,000. We are especially interested in this list because Forsyth County came in at number 6, the only southern county to make it into the top 10. The rankings were determined by the percentage of those aged 25-34 who are making over $100,000 out of the total population for the county. With 4,128 households in this demographic out of a total of 59,296 households, 6.96% of Forsyth County are these young, successful professionals.
These wealthy young households have plenty of wonderful options for Forsyth County new homes, including Brandon Hall, a Sharp Residential community located off of Windemere Parkway where homes are affordably priced from the $200’s. Home shoppers can choose from a variety of floorplans from Sharp’s Classic and New Traditions series, giving shoppers a wide variety of styles from open floorplans to master-on-main to bonus rooms and more.
The pictured photo features the Canterbury floorplan, an incredibly spacious plan from the classic collection. This home has an unbelievable master suite on the second floor with separate sitting area and private, covered deck. There are three other bedrooms and two other baths on teh second floor. The main level boasts a two-story family room with dramatic bowed wall of windows, formal dining room, formal living room, study or office, eat-in breakfast area and two covered porches – as well as the two-car garage.
And, as with every home at Brandon Hall, you can expect to find luxurious standard features like granite countertops with designer tile backsplashes, an undermount stainless steel sink, a premium GE appliance package, hardwood floors, crown molding and more throughout the home.

Forsyth is “only southern county”, huh? Loudoun, Alexandria, and Arlinton are all located in Virginia which is still Southern as of yesterday. So 4 of the top 10 are in the South.

Gene, yes those counties are located in Virginia, but if you ask most Southerners, the metro Washington D.C. area, even the part that is in Virginia, is not really considered the South – it’s Washington D.C. While drafting this post, that was the mentality. But, yes, technically you are right. Thanks for pointing that out.

Forsyth county also has among the highest rated academic schools in the nation for children. It’s located just north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, outstanding schools, politically very conservative and loaded with excellent shopping and a motivated and highly educated population. A wonderful place to live.
