Foreclosure Help for Homeowners?

Do you know of an organization that is working to help consumers negotiate with their bank and stay in their home? Who do consumers call for assistance working with their bank, mortgage lender, etc.

If you know of a professional organization that provides consumer advocacy and homeowner foreclosure assistance, please comment!

(We are not looking for short sales as the answer.)  Any and all comments appreciated.

  1. There are several “loan modification” service firms out there that can help, but I urge you to be careful since a great many of them are fraudulent. You can try HomeSave, a foreclosure prevention firm (www.ihomesave.com), they are a legit company with experience and they have counselors who care.

DISCLAIMER: I work for them as a web developer and I’ve known the owners for over 3 years and I can personally vouch for them. I stumbled across your posting by accident.

  2. Don’t borrow what you cannot pay back.
