Fall in Love With Saratoga Soapstone

Construction Resources reports that clients are falling in love with Saratoga Soapstone, the natural Brazilian surface that can be used for countertops, sinks and even fireplace surrounds. Whether homeowners choose to subtle veins and color variations in the natural product or greater contrast of the waxed surface, they’re finding a surface that is as stunning as it is easy to keep beautiful.

Saratoga Soapstone is quarried naturally, with no synthetics added. Its primary components are talc, chlorite, dolomite and magnetite. Known for its heat resistant properties, the soapstone was once used in fireplaces and wood burning stoves. Now, it’s come into more visible spaces and feels right at home in both traditional and modern decors.

For the homeowner, the advantages of Saratoga Soapstone begin at installation. Because it is easier to cut and shape than marble or granite, installers can make joints and seams disappear. The surface does not have to be sealed, and once families start using it for everyday applications, it holds its own. It’s inert, so it isn’t harmed by normal household products, and it is stain resistant. Plus, when the pot is boiling over or something needs to come out of the oven quickly, hot items can be placed directly on the surface without worry for burns or stains.

Construction Resources showcases the different colors of Saratoga Soapstone in three Atlanta area showrooms in Alpharetta, Decatur and Lake Oconee. Visit the Construction Resources website for more information.
