Economic and Construction Outlook
Ten key states account for 52 percent of all non-residential building construction starts in 2007. And, starts are up 18 percent from a year ago.
The outlook for Georgia, according to an article by Jim Haughey posted on Reed Construction Data, is as follows: The economic environment for construction is clearly above average in Georgia, but non-residential construction activity is declining. He goes on to say that the housing collapse in Atlanta is due to overbuilding and that current water shortage problems add caution to the market.
Many other states are included in his report including New York, Illinois, Ohio and more.
