Del Webb’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Unwraps $9 Million Amenity Center at Lake Oconee
Del Webb at Lake Oconee officially opened the spectacular Club at Lake Oconee amenity complex on Monday, November 17th. Nearly 200 residents and guests were in attendance for the unveiling and tour which marks a significant milestone for the community. Now, the Del Webb at Lake Oconee residents will have full access to the amenity center, sports complex and all the lifestyle programming it has to offer.
As the only Del Webb community in the country with direct lake access, Del Webb at Lake Oconee offers a full-time lifestyle director and staff who are focused on shaping the community’s resort-like atmosphere, activities, clubs, programs and group trips. The community boasts planned activities for residents including personal fitness training, country-western line dancing, wine tastings, cultural excursions, tennis lessons, kayak lake tours, Friday night movie nights, theater productions and so much more.
“We know our residents are moving to Del Webb at Lake Oconee for a lifestyle experience they could not get anywhere else,” says Alicia MacPhee. “From day one, we’ve been committed to providing the world class experience you’ve come to expect from Del Webb. From the lakeside pavilion, docks and ramps that opened for boating season back in June to our event celebrating the opening of this gorgeous, $9 million facility less than a year after our first homeowners moved into the community.”
The Club at Lake Oconee offers residents a 21,000 square foot, state-of-the-art recreational facility complete with a fitness center, ballroom, arts and crafts room, billiards room, and heated junior Olympic indoor pool. Outdoors, residents have access to a zero-entry, resort-style pool, clay tennis courts, bocce ball courts, a basketball half-court, horseshoes, and pickle ball courts.
A highly social, highly amenitized lifestyle is the most prevalent characteristic of Del Webb communities across the country, making them a popular living destination since Mr. Del Webb built the first Sun City in Arizona in 1960. “The opening of the Club at Lake Oconee is incredibly important because it represents Del Webb‘s first community with direct lake access. It also symbolizes the very essence of the “lifestyle” that will shape the future of Del Webb at Lake Oconee’s identity and culture,” says MacPhee. There are over 78,000,000 baby boomers across the country that are interested in living, working and playing in a community formed specifically for them – now, Georgia’s Lake Country can offer this growing and active part of our population a premier opportunity to enjoy all that life has to offer – to literally be on vacation every single day!”
Del Webb at Lake Oconee offers Del Webb’s legendary active adult lifestyle from the $100’s to $400’s. Call 706-454-5430 or visit www.delwebb-lakeoconee.com for more information.
