Don’t Miss the Decatur Tour of Homes

The Annual Decatur Holiday Tour of Homes happens this weekend, December 4th and 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in Talley Street’s neighborhood. Officially known as the Decatur Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes, this tour will feature 8 homes and two points of interest within the Decatur, Georgia city limits. The two points of interest are: Clairemont Oaks, a senior adult retirement community and the 18th annual Holiday Marketplace and Cafe at Clairemont Elementary School. This is your chance to see the inside of homes you wouldn’t normally have the chance to and also discover more of Decatur that you may not know of. With the holiday marketplace and cafe, you’ll even have a place to purchase Christmas gift items and get refreshments during your tour.

The eight homes included on the tour are easily within walking distance of each other and Talley Street lofts as well. There will be a free shuttle provided by the Decatur Active Living Department to take you from home to home if you choose not to walk. You also have the option of driving your car and parking at the First Baptist Church at the corner of Clairemont Avenue and Commerce Drive. The free shuttle will start and end here to provide transportation to and from the parking lot.

Tickets for the 29th Annual Decatur Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes can be purchased in advance for $20. Tickets will be available at the time of the tours at each home for $25. To purchase tickets in advance, you can visit any of these 4 Decatur stores: Seventeen Steps, The Seen Gallery, Bicycle South and Ace Intown Hardware. A map of the home locations and the two points of interest can be downloaded from Decatur Tour of Homes. Proceeds from this event benefit the Decatur Youth Fund and Decatur Preservation Alliance.
