Creative Loafing Names Melaver to the Green Team
Creative Loafing names developer Martin Melaver to their Green Team for “making mother nature proud!” The seven Georgian’s named to the Green Team include Sierra Club lobbyists Neill Herring and Mark Woodall, Alice Rolls with Georgia Organics, The Rev. Martin Battle of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Vine City, Gwinnett County developer Emory Morsberger, Lee Biola wth Atlanta based Citizens for Progressive Transit and Martin Melaver with Melaver, Inc.
Melaver is a Savannah-based firm that has developed a niche as a sustainable-building leader that deals solely with energy-efficient buildings. The company builds all buildings to meet LEED standards and has them LEED certified under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design,.
Melaver Inc. has achieved a number of firsts:
- developer of the first LEED-certified McDonald’s, located in Savannah
- the nation’s first LEED-certified existing office building – Crestwood , located in Duluth
- Atlanta’s first LEED-certified condo building, Oakland Park, located across the street from Oakland Cemetery.
