Couple Celebrates 60th Anniversary at Park Springs
Members have nothing but great things to say about the Stone Mountain continuing care retirement community Park Springs. So, when James and Caroline Gammell, gave their opinion about their recent move to the community, it came as no surprise that they detailed all the things they love about Park Springs that make it a perfect fit for their lifestyle.
Park Springs is designed for seniors ages 62 and older and provides an expansive array of the finest services and amenities. The couple, who recently celebrated their 60th anniversary at the beginning of September, made the move to Park Springs just one month ago. James said the couple is happy to be beginning the newest chapter of their life at the continuing care retirement community in Stone Mountain.
“I am well satisfied and well pleased about the move,” said James, who had spent the last 50 years with his wife at Oak Grove Acres, a subdivision just a short 15 minute drive from their current residence. “The people here are so friendly. For our 60th Wedding Anniversary we had a big blowout downstairs in the party room. We had something like 18 or 19 people here. Everyone at Park Springs was very accommodating.”
While Mr. Gammell has only begun to enjoy many of the amenities Park Springs has to offer, including a 50,000-square-foot clubhouse with a library, art studio, woodworking room, bridge room, ballroom, bank, business center, market, beauty salon and barber shop, it is the fact that his wife, who suffers from dementia, can also enjoy them as well that really makes him love the environment at Park Springs.
“We have a lady that comes in twice a week and takes my wife to swimming and other activities,” said Gammell. “It is nice to know that she is being taken care of.”
