Construction Under Way on Amenities, Homes in Eastside Walk

Construction is under way on a new amenity center and several new homes that will be ready for move-in early this year in Eastside Walk, a community in East Atlanta. Located on Bouldercrest Drive in the East Atlanta portion of DeKalb County, the charming community will have a total of 174 Arts and Crafts-style homes when completed.

An amenity center featuring a swimming pool with a cabana and a playground is expected to be open in the spring, giving Eastside Walk the distinction of being the first East Atlanta community to offer a swimming pool as an amenity. In addition, community residents will have easy access to Glen Emerald Park with basketball and tennis courts, a pond and a picnic area, located just outside Eastside Walk.

Eastside Walk is a public-private partnership between the Housing Authority of DeKalb County and The Housing Group Intown. The housing authority began the neighborhood as Sugar Mill Creek but passed the development to a fulltime professional building company in 2005 and selected The Housing Group Intown because of its commitment to building high quality and affordable homes in the revitalizing East Atlanta area. Homes at Eastside Walk are inspired by the architecture of the past and constructed using the materials of today. The exteriors are made of low maintenance concrete-based siding with brick, batten board and cedar shake accents, classic Craftsman windows and big front porches.
