Construction Nearing Completion on Showcase House for Southern Building Show

Construction is nearing completion on The EarthCraft/TecHome Showcase House which will be featured during the upcoming 2007 Southern Building Show, which will be held June 20-22 at the Cobb Galleria Exhibition Center in the Northwest Atlanta metro area. Carl Seville, who is the builder for the showcase house, said tours of the Showcase House are open to those construction industry professionals who are registered for the Southern Building Show.
More information about the Showcase House, including updates on the progress of construction, is available by going on the internet to www.southernbuildingshowcase.com. Comcast is also planning to feature the house on its on-demand real estate section. The 2007 EarthCraft/TecHome Showcase Home, which is being presented by the Southern Building Show and two national media partners, Green Builder Magazine, and TecHome Builder Magazine, is a new Tudor-styled home which is an infill project, replacing an existing pre-war house in a developed Intown Atlanta neighborhood. The new home was designed to fit contextually with the existing homes in its neighborhood, while providing the amenities that today’s homeowners demand.

Seville said the project adheres to the principles of green building and the EarthCraft House Program in energy efficiency, indoor air quality,sustainable material use and durable construction methods. Seville, who lives and has his office in Decatur, was the founder and served as vice president of SawHorse Inc., an Atlanta design/build firm for 25 years. He now operates Seville Consulting, a company with the goal of helping homeowners and building professionals create healthy, efficient, and durable buildings by incorporating sustainable practices into their homes and businesses.
