Congratulations to Get Home Atlanta!
I know you noticed the eye-catching orange signs last fall that were encouraging you to buy now – well, those were just one part of a much larger marketing campaign launched by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association titled “Get Home Atlanta!“All of the hard work and devotion to the campaign are now receiving recognition as, on Aug. 7, the HBA received an Award of Excellence in the category of Best Public Awareness Campaign with a Buy-Now Message from the Executive Officers Council of the National Association of Home Builders. The Get Home ATL campaign was created in response to the negative and exaggerated media coverage of Atlanta’s declining housing market. HBA members raised $336,000, which was leveraged into a $1.2 million advertising and public relations campaign designed to educate and encourage home buyers to “buy now.”
In addition to print ads in dozens of newspapers and magazines and ads on radio, TV and the Internet, thousands of fliers, banners, yard signs and bumper stickers were made for distribution to and placement in high-traffic areas such as shopping malls, sports and concert venues and parks and recreation areas. The Get Home ATL campaign’s creative services were donated by HBA member company Full Circle Real Estate Marketing, and public relations services were provided by HBA member company Flammer Relations. Dozens of other HBA member companies donated their time, money and materials to ensure the Get Home ATL campaign’s success.
This was clearly a community effort to educate Atlanta that, despite what the media was saying, it was a great time to buy a new home in Atlanta. The way the Atlanta real estate industry worked together to promote the campaign is really inspiring and shows the devotion we all have to improving the housing market. Great job to everyone involved, this national award is well-deserved!
