Residential Marketing Realty opened in April of 1989 in Norcross, representing just five new home communities and having 10 agents. With her outgoing personality and entrepreneurial spirit, Lisa Macy, the broker and owner of RMR, was able to make connections with prominent builders and developers in metro Atlanta who gave her the opportunity to market many new home communities.
Although her primary focus was in new home sales, Lisa also realized the value of having a good team surrounding her. She teamed up with incredible lending partners, closing attorneys, and industry leaders, and they collaborated together throughout the ups and downs of the real estate market.
By 1994, RMR had achieved more than $25 million in new home sales while managing 20 communities. The company averaged between 20 and 30 home sales per month. It wasn’t long before Coldwell Banker Real Estate noticed RMR and offered them a franchise opportunity, which was a perfect fit. The opportunity came with all of the privileges, tools and name recognition of being affiliated with Coldwell Banker, while still giving Lisa the freedom of owning her own business, which became Coldwell Banker RMR.
Soon after becoming part of Coldwell Banker, Lisa envisioned a one-stop shop that included real estate, architecture, loans and closing operations all under one roof. This vision became a reality and now serves as the central office for Coldwell Banker RMR on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Suwanee. She continued to build a strong team around her, and after 25 years of being in business, Coldwell Banker RMR has sold more than $1 billion in real estate sales volume and put more than 18,000 families into homes.
