Clayton County Approves Sprinkler Ordinance
At a meeting last week, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance that will change the county’s current fire sprinkler ordinance. The focus of the ordinance is to retrofit hotels and motels that are not currently sprinkled and multifamily dwellings, as well as substantial renovations.
Additionally, the adopted version affects new construction, stating “All new one and two family dwellings built closer than 15 ft. from another structure or closer than 10 ft. to the property line must be equipped with an approved sprinkler system.”
