Chapman Hall Realtors Views Slow Market as Unique Opportunity

Recently the Commerce Department issued a report stating that sales of new homes have dropped by 8.3 percent in a single month, making this the lowest point home sales have hit since 2000. John Hallman III, CEO of Chapman Hall Realtors, says business isn’t as bad as people may think. In fact, Hallman’s firm is opening four new offices.

“Sales of new homes have definitely slowed compared to last year, but 2000 wasn’t awful, specially for those of us who still remember 1974-1976, where interest rates were 18 percent and the market virtually dried up. Today’s buyers can easily get a loan with a very competitive interest rate, said Hallman.

Hallman, a broker who has spent his entire 39-year career servicing the metro Atlanta area, has pioneered several innovative concepts that have changed the real estate industry in Atlanta. In 1989, Hallman lowered the barrier of entry for sellers to list their houses on Atlanta’s Multiple Listing Services list.

“In order to get potential buyers off the fence, builders are offering incentives to buyers as well as to agents to reduce their existing inventory and that makes for one heck of a deal for potential buyers,” added Hallman.

“Chapman Hall is using this time to open four new offices across the Atlanta area. We hope that with the increase in our visibility to the people of Atlanta, will come an increase in sales and the real estate market as a whole,” said John Hallman IV, Development Director of Chapman Hall.

The new offices are all expected to be open for business this year and are located in Kennesaw, Snellville, East Cobb and Suwanee.
