New Community in Holly Springs Featured in AJC
If you picked up the Atlanta Journal Constitution last Sunday, November 9th, you may have noticed a Sharp Residential community featured in the AJC Homefinder section. In this week’s Development of the Week, the Parks family described why they chose Harmony on the Lakes, an extraordinary master-planned community in Holly Springs, as their new home. The Development of the Week feature is an interview of homeowners at a specific metro-Atlanta community. The idea behind it is to educate individuals searching for a new home on the different communities available. Homebuyers tend to have a variety of needs that need to be satisfied in a new home, usually one particular desire spearheads their decision on a new home. So, Development of the Week asks homeowners why they chose the home that they did, hoping to provide some guidance to other home shoppers. And for Harmony on the Lakes, a community with so much to offer homeowners, it was hard to depict one aspect that attracted the Parks, but the answer they gave to the AJC is probably one that many can relate to - a home with beautiful, natural views. Windsong Properties Wins Four Gold OBIES
Last Saturday night was a huge night in the Atlanta real estate industry as the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association hosted its annual OBIE Awards ceremony at the Cobb Galleria. These are the most prestigious honors given to the Atlanta housing industry, and winners gain industry recognition as well as credibility for consumers. To win even one award is a tremendous honor, so when an Atlanta home builder takes home four gold awards, a congratulations is definitely in order. So, let’s give props to Windsong Properties, who took home four gold awards last weekend.

Jim Chapman Communities Wins Five OBIE Awards
A tremendous congratulations goes out to Jim Chapman Communities as they brought home five awards, four of which were gold awards, at last weekend’s OBIES ceremony at the Cobb Galleria. Among the many honors of the night, Jim Chapman Communities is most proud of Brookhaven at Sugarloaf being named the Fifty-Plus Community of the Year, in which the community received a gold award. This was not the only honor bestowed upon Brookhaven at Sugarloaf as the Gwinnett County active adult community also received the Gold Award for Attached Community of the Year. Brookhaven of East Cobb received the Gold Award for Best Amenity Package (500 units and above), which really isn’t too much of a surprise as earlier this year the community clubhouse at this active adult community in Kennesaw received a Gold Award from the Fifty Plus Housing Awards in New Orleans. Rounding out the evening’s awards for Jim Chapman Communities, Brookhaven at Lanier Ridge received both a gold and silver award. (Continued…)
Year End Prices at Oakland Park
To help bring 2008 to a close, Oakland Park has drastically reduced the prices of its condos - up to $62,000! The one-bedroom units start at $149,900 and the two-bedroom units start at $199,900. Keep in mind that these are green built condos with many features to reduce your monthly utility bills and reduce your carbon footprint. In fact, Oakland Park is the first residential LEED Certified community in Atlanta. These green features in combination with the exceptional location (directly across from historic Oakland Cemetery) make these new price points an absolute steal. Allow me to elaborate by featuring one of the available units:
Unit #306 is the largest floorplan available at these new Atlanta condos at 1,424 square feet. It is a corner unit that offers two completely different, but both beautiful, views of downtown Atlanta. (Continued…)
