Cobb County Redefines Building Line
Cobb County has changed the county zoning regulations to amend the definition of a building line. The Cobb County Building Department is now requiring builders to have their structural plans on site before any footing inspection. Inspectors will use the plans to verify that any cantilevered portions of the home, excluding roof eaves and overhangs, chimneys, bay windows and all siding material, are within the building setback lines.
The Building Department will also require topographical lot surveys and site plans for every teardown and redevelopment property for compliance with a new code amendment (Continued…)
Clayton County Approves Sprinkler Ordinance
At a meeting last week, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance that will change the county’s current fire sprinkler ordinance. The focus of the ordinance is to retrofit hotels and motels that are not currently sprinkled and multifamily dwellings, as well as substantial renovations.
Additionally, the adopted version affects new construction, stating “All new one and two family dwellings built closer than 15 ft. from another structure or closer than 10 ft. to the property line must be equipped with an approved sprinkler system.”

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours, 20 minutes ago, at the rate our government is spending it.
While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let’s take a look at New Orleans It’s amazing what you can learn with some simple division . . (Continued…)
