Haven Properties Makes it Easy to Judge Livability

Haven Properties’ Raleigh FloorplanRecognizing that women are making or serving as the primary influencer in 91 percent of new home purchases (according to Smith-Dahlmer, 2006), Haven Properties is taking the steps to help potential buyers judge homes for ease of living in a glance. In order to help make the process easier, Haven Properties now has color coded floorplans online. Said President of Haven Properties Mike Baptist, “Research shows that women filter through the home plans by looking at how a home ‘lives.’ There are four primary elements of a home in which they are most interested:

haven_logo_0707.jpgHaven Properties is all about high performance, environmentally friendly construction in our Atlanta neighborhoods, and this week we offer two easy tips you can implement in your existing laundry room to save money and energy. First, switch to a laundry detergent formulated for washing in cold water, then turn the knob away from the hot and warm cycles. Using only cold water to wash clothes will save you $24 to $40 in the fuel it takes to heat water. Simply cleaning the lint trap in your clothes dryer before every load of laundry will increase the dryer’s efficiency and save an additional $34 each year in energy costs. (Continued…)

Haven Properties tells you how celebrating Earth Day makes you sexier

haven_logo_0707.jpgIn honor of Earth Day, Haven Properties presents five reasons why people who live in energy-efficient homes are sexier. Adapted from a blog post by Carol Gulyas on CleanTechnica.com, the tips demonstrate five more reasons why Haven Properties’ homes that meet and exceed EarthCraft and Energy Star standards will make your life better.

1. Your energy-efficient, Haven Properties home is air tight. No drafts in winter means you can walk around in sexy lingerie instead of a flannel nightgown and fuzzy slippers.
2. After you’ve watched your Haven Properties home under construction, you’ll be able to talk knowledgeably about “blower door tests” and “weather stripping” at parties.
3. Men who live in energy efficient homes get to brag about the size of their (Continued…)

Are you sneezing yet?

haven-logo-0707.jpgAllergy season is approaching, and this Forecast Earth Video from the Weather Channel tells us it’s getting here earlier each year because of climate change. Alpharetta-based Haven Properties is here to help.

First, the increase in carbon dioxide in our environment has been shown to increase the potency of pollen. But Haven Properties has been building to Energy Star and Earthcraft standards for years in an effort to decrease carbon dioxide emissions from their homes. In fact, the US EPA has recognized them as an Energy Star Partner for three years running, noting the fact that their actions are helping to reduce greenhouse gases.

Second, people who suffer from allergies can live more comfortably in a Haven Properties home. Haven uses state of the art air filtration and tight construction to practically eliminate the pollen that comes into the home. Homebuyers have even let Haven know that they’ve had reduced allergy-related doctor visits and days missed from school after moving into their new Haven Properties homes. (Continued…)
