Join the Atlanta SMC in Building a Home for a Local Hero
No matter your political stance, it is imperative that you show support for our troops, and one fantastic community service project that will give you the opportunity to help out a local veteran is coming up on February 19, 20 and 21. The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council is getting a team together to help Homes for our Troops build a new home in Cumming, Ga for Army Corporal Joshua Lindsey. The Atlanta SMC team will be helping with non-construction related tasks to assist the Build Brigade in constructing the home.
The Build Brigade consists of hundreds of professional volunteers who will erect a home starting with the bare foundation and by the end of the day on February 21st, the interior walls will be framed, windows installed, doors hung, roof shingled and siding installed. It is amazing that an entire house can be built in 3 days time and it is anticipated that at least 50-75 volunteers will be needed on site each day to help reach the goal.
You can join the Atlanta SMC team or volunteer on your own – either way, your contributions are much need and greatly appreciated. To join the Atlanta SMC team, contact Cindy Huber at chbuer [at] strucsure [dot] com. To get more information about the project in general and see what items are still needed and how you can help, contact Amber Hewes, the project facilitator at ahewes [at] homesforourtroops [dot] org.
If you are interested in registering to help at the Build Brigade, there will be a registration table on site everyday and volunteers must sign a waiver and wear a Build Brigade t-shirt. The address is 5220 Kendall’s Way Cumming, Ga 30041.
