Brock Built Homes’ Special Touch
Walk into many of the new Atlanta homes crafted by Brock Built Homes and you will see a very special feature that adds warmth, depth, and character to the home-the unique stone fireplace. Natural khakis, grays, greens, and reds all dot the gorgeous stone, but what’s less visible is the personal touch and care given to every piece.
The stone used by Brock Built isn’t a commercially found fireplace material. The stone is brought from Fox Mountain, which is located in Rising Fawn and on property owned by the Brock family. Several years ago, Brock Built founder and president Steve Brock decided to start gathering and trucking the stone to Atlanta specifically for use on his new homes under construction.
The stone has become a signature of many Brock Built Homes. Fox Mountain stone is gathered a few days in advance and then trucked directly to Brock Built home sites where skilled masons hand-chisel each piece for use on the exterior and interior of many homes. Many of Brock Built’s communities have entrance monuments made from Fox Mountain stone, and larger boulders are used in the landscaping of homes and green spaces.
“Our homeowners appreciate the personal touch that the stone gives to their home, and the fact that it makes their home truly unique,” said Evanne Brock.
The Brock’s first used Fox Mountain stone on their log cabin at Fox Mountain. The cabin is wrapped with a Fox Mountain stone water table and has a two story Fox Mountain stone fireplace. They realized how gorgeous the stone was and wanted to share their personal stone with their homeowners. Select homes at Dupont Commons, Idlewilde, Adeline Pond, Watercrest Commons, and Lynden Manor, and all homes at Pete Shaw Manor and Piedmont Crossing feature Fox Mountain stone. Brock Built continues to use Fox Mountain stone on many of their homes throughout the Atlanta area.
