Brock Built Green House Open for Tours
Saturday, August 23 will be the first day the Brock Built Green House is open to the public for tours and for interested buyers to view the unique green features of this home. The home will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm until October 3rd.
Hours and hours of hard work and craftsmanship have gone into this beautiful EarthCraft certified home located at 1536 Craftsman Drive in Atlanta.
The home will be auctioned off to the lucky highest bidder! The auction will take place online and will begin at $350,00 and will run from September 17th until October 3rd. All proceeds will benefit Children’s Health Care of Atlanta which is a not-for-profit organization that provides exceptional health care to children in need. Besides being built by contributions from local businesses, what really makes this home special is the amount of energy efficient technology that is evident all throughout the house. Energy efficient appliances, plumbing, doors, and windows were used throughout along with environmentally friendly paints and cleaners. Brock Built went a step further and even used recycled insulation, foundation and siding which are not only better for the environment, but will also be better for the lucky homeowners’ health. This home will not only lower energy bills, but will also lower maintenance and repair costs, as well as doctor bills for health problems associated with poor indoor air quality. The home will also be featured on WSB-TV channel 2 as part of their “Going Green 2008″ campaign as a one-hour prime time program and will show simple ways for viewers to make their homes more environmentally friendly. This great project will also act as a role-model to encourage builders to build other EarthCraft certified homes not only around Atlanta, but throughout our country in order to respect and protect our environment. Make sure you make your way over to view this beautiful home sometime within the next month!
