Breaking Bread for the Soleil Community
Eber Lester and Soleil’s Canyon Cookers club kicked off their new culinary season with a bang last Monday by giving a loaf of bread to every resident household and staff at Soleil Laurel Canyon. Eber made the 250 loaves from scratch simply to show appreciation for the community that he adores.
Eber founded the Canyon Cookers in 2006 with the objective to leverage Soleil’s teaching kitchen for bringing residents together to learn from one another as they experience new tastes and demonstrations. “We like to talk about food as much as we like to eat it,” he explains. The tastings are a “fellowship-type thing” where the person that prepared the recipe can talk about how they received the recipe and a unique step in preparing the dish.
Cooking is not Eber’s only hobby, he’s a busy man on the Soleil social scene. When he’s not cooking, he’s busy playing billiards or bridge, and he also enjoys the wood working club. After living in the community for five years, Eber explains that Soleil doesn’t compare to any other place. He has truly left his mark on the community, not only with the smell of his delicious whole-wheat loaves, but with his kind heart and inspiring outlook on life.
If you’re looking to purchase a home in an inviting active adult community like the one Eber enjoys, Soleil is the place for you. Move into or build your dream home today! To learn more, visit www.SoleilLaurelCanyon.com or join us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SoleilLaurelCanyon.
