Brayson Homes’ 17th Transplant House Brings GTF Contributions to Over $1.6 Million
With the sale of its 17th Transplant House, this one at its High Meadows community in the Augusta area, Brayson Homes contributes $65,000 to The Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF). This brings to over $1.6 million the amount that Brayson Homes has contributed to GTF since the Transplant House program was begun by the company 12 years ago. Since 1996, Brayson Homes has constructed and sold at least one Transplant House each year. Ten of the homes were built in Gwinnett County, where Brayson Homes has its headquarters. DeKalb, Cherokee, Coweta, South Fulton, Henry and Spalding Counties have each been the location for one Brayson Transplant House in previous years. The 2008 project in Columbia County near Augusta is the first Transplant House built outside the Metro Atlanta area.
High Meadows, the site of the 17th Transplant House, is a master planned community offering two-story and ranch homes priced from the $160,000s to the $200,000s. Brayson Homes is also building in two other Augusta area communities, The Orchard and Elderberry, both in Richmond County.
The Orchard, which is in Hephzibah, has homes priced from the $160,000s, while Elderberry, which is in Augusta, offers homes from the $180,000s.
The Transplant House project is carried out each year by Brayson Homes with the understanding that when a home is sold, 100 percent of the profits support the Georgia Transplant Foundation. The profits from Transplant House sales are much larger than profits received from the normal sale of a home, since many of Brayson Homes’ contractors, suppliers, and others donate labor and materials for the yearly project. The purpose of the Transplant House is twofold: to help fund important GTF programs and
to encourage organ donation.
