Bowen Family Homes Raises Money for Relay for Life
Major kudos goes to Bowen Family Homes, because not only did they raise over $3,500 for the American Cancer Society, but they thought of creative and fun ways to raise the money. Every year Bowen Family Homes has a team compete in the Gwinnett Relay for Life, and it becomes a company-wide responsibility to raise as much money as possible for the cause. This year, six Bowen employees volunteered to receive a pie in the face in order to motivate the entire company to support the Relay for Life team. So, six different jars were placed in the office with the corresponding picture of the Bowen employees, and the jar that had the most money in it at the end of the fundraiser would be the lucky individual to get pied! Yet a twist at the end caused a six-way tie (the company added funds to the jars with less) meaning all six Bowen employees - Randall Moore, Steve Palmer, Josh Bowie, Jeremy Patterson, Chris Hill and Tim Cape - got a creme facial. In addition to this fabulous pie-in-the-face fundraiser, employees were able to wear jeans to work everyday for an entire week for only a $5 donation. With the casual work week and the pie in the face fundraiser, Bowen Family Homes was able to raise $1,800 for their Relay for Life team, and received over $1,700 in additional donations. It’s so refreshing to see Atlanta homebuilders take an active role in community service for the areas in which they build new homes. Great job Bowen for setting a great example to the rest of the Atlanta real estate industry!
