Bill Lawson Named as the 2009 President of the Georgia CRS Chapter

The Georgia CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) Chapter held their Transition Meeting on December

9th at the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of REALTORS in Duluth. Shirley Smith of Shirley R. Smith Realtors, Ltd in Macon served as the President for 2008. She handed the gavel over to Bill Lawson to begin his term as President for 2009.

Bill, an Atlanta real estate agent at Harry Norman REALTORS, has been a member of the National

Association of REALTORS (NAR) and Georgia Association of REALTORS (GAR) since 1975 and the Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of REALTORS (NAMAR) since 1980. He is very active at the local, state and national level serving on the Board of Directors in both GAR and NAMAR. Bill has attended every NAR meeting since 1988 and served as a NAR Director in 2007 through 2008. In 2001, Bill was named the GAR REALTOR of the Year. He served as President of NAMAR in 1985. Bill is also an instructor for Code of Ethics.

As Bill stated at the meeting on December 9th, “The CRS Designation is the PhD of the Real Estate profession. CRS Designees earn an average of three times as much as the typical REALTOR. One of my most important goals for 2009 is to build awareness and recognition among Georgia REALTORS of the CRS Designations and the Georgia CRS Chapter.” The Georgia Chapter has over 600 members.
