Residents at Heron Bay Golf and Country Club, a master-planned community location on Atlanta’s Southside, have an abundance of amenities and events that can be enjoyed inside the community gates. However, when they’re searching for something to do outside of the community, they can attend one of the many local events being held in nearby Locust Grove, Hampton or McDonough.
This weekend, residents can attend the 37th annual Geranium Festival in downtown McDonough. Held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., the arts and crafts festival features jewelry, woodworking, clothing, pet items and homemade crafts. Food vendors will also be on hand offering up some of the best festival foods, including Georgia favorites – tomato sandwiches, boiled peanuts and kettle corn. Sponsored by the McDonough Lions Club, admission and parking for the event is free.
If you are searching for a new home on Atlanta’s Southside, head to Heron Bay Golf and Country Club after attending the Geranium Festival. When touring the community, you will be able to view the many new homes for sale and see the abundance of amenities that make the Heron Bay community so unique.
From the 18-hole Canongate at Heron Bay golf course and nature preserve to the Lakefront Park and Aquatic Center, Heron Bay offers an amenity or activity for every lifestyle. The community boasts more than four miles of peaceful nature trails, a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness center, children’s play park, a plunge pool with a spiraling waterslide, a community sports field and the 1,100-acre Cole Reservoir. In addition, residents can enjoy year-round social events and activities, such as the Easter EGGstravaganza, themed movie nights, the Goblin Gallop and so much more.
Home buyers visiting the Heron Bay community for the first time will be greeted by multiple communities that offer a wide variety of home plans and prices. Currently, there are new homes available in The Summit from D.R. Horton. This community offers unique ranch and two-story floor plans priced from the low $200,000s that offer three to five bedrooms.
