Thom Abbot with Thomas Ramon Realty at Palmer House Properties is this week’s guest on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Thom gives us an update on the Midtown real estate market, and his interview is followed by round table discussions with Molly Gunn of The Porter Beer Bar and Todd DiMatteo of Brick Store Pub on their nationally ranked establishments.
Thom Abbott is an associate broker with Thomas Ramon Realty at Palmer House Properties. Thom has lived all across the country, and has had his real estate license since 2004 and his broker’s license since 2007.
Thom is well known in Atlanta for his blog, My Midtown Mojo, which is a niche market site about Midtown Atlanta and the surrounding communities. Visitors of the blog will find community pages, market reports, listings and other interesting information about the Midtown area.
However, if you are a buyer looking to purchase in Midtown, there is not a lot left. Condominium buildings that once had 30 or 40 listings are now down to just two or three listings. On the flip side, this is good news for those who are willing and able to sell in this area because many sellers are seeing multiple bid situations.

Our next guest is Molly Gunn who is the owner of The Porter Beer Bar in Little 5 Points. The Porter Beer Bar was recently named one of the top 100 beer bars in the nation by Draft Magazine, and rightfully so with their more than 40 craft beers and microbrews, amazing food and more than 800 bottles. One of the other best parts of this bar is its location in Little 5 Points, a walkable commercial district nestled between Candler Park and Inman Park. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and check out The Porter Beer Bar.
Our final guest is Todd DiMatteo who is the general manager of Brick Store Pub, which is Atlanta’s other beer pub on Draft Magazine’s top 100 list. Located in Decatur, a neighborhood with great schools and an eclectic mix of businesses, Brick Store Pub has been properly serving up Belgian and craft American beers for 16 years, so be sure to stop by and see what they have on tap.
