Welcome to this week’s episode of the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast! This week, we are excited to speak with Stacie Stamper, head of donations at the Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and Teresa Safranek of Artisan Custom Closets.
Stacie tells us all about how she went from being a full-time interior designer to being the head of donations and a project coordinator for the Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Gwinnett, where she helps to collect donations made by individuals and companies. She makes sure that what can be used in Habitat homes is, and that the rest is then marketed for sale. The store, which is a part of Habitat for Humanity International, uses sales from these goods (which range from lightly used to new), to fund efforts and pay the costs involved with building housing for low-income families in Gwinnett County.
The Gwinnett Habitat for Humanity ReStore is owned by Habitat International and is working toward becoming a flagship store, which would certainly be a great resource for Atlanta residents! From goods donated by downsizing homeowners and spring cleaners to building project remnants to discontinued products, the Gwinnett ReStore has it all.
The ReStore and Habitat for Humanity are very appreciative of donations, whether it is of your building goods, money or time. There are plenty of opportunities to join in and help through volunteering, and it gives you the opportunity to give back to the community and be in the know when new materials come in so you can get just what you want as soon as it hits the store floor.
To learn more about donating, volunteering and buying opportunities at the ReStore, visit the Gwinnett ReStore website at www.gwinnettrestore.org or listen to the full podcast above, where Stacie explains just how it all works for the store and for the community.

Our second guest is Teresa Safranek, a senior design consultant with Artisan Custom Closets. Teresa has been involved with closets, organization and interior design for 15 years, and works with Artisan to help design organizational spaces from kitchen pantries to walk-in closets and much more. Artisan is locally owned and operated, and they make all of their products in Dallas, Ga.
Artisan Custom Closets has a variety of options that are significantly different from other closet builders. These differences include 14-inch deep units, no fringes hanging off the edges for things to get caught on, drawers that pull all the way out to make organization and reach easy, and shelves and boxes made of wood so the insides match the gorgeous outsides. Of course, if you want to see these custom closets and other organizational options, as well as the variety of materials and other selections available, visit their design center at 600 Wylie Road in Marietta.
In addition to closets, Artisan works with pantries, laundry rooms, garages, mud rooms, book cases and built-ins, and commercial processes for everything from libraries to offices and more. Artisan’s skilled designers can turn any space in your home or business to one of order and sophistication, and will hold your hand through the process of design to installation.
