Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio: FrontDoor Communities and Chattahoochee Riverkeeper

FrontDoor CommunitiesTerry Russell with FrontDoor Communities is this week’s guest on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Terry gives us the scoop on Atlanta’s largest residential community land acquisition in years, and his interview is followed by a discussion with Sally Bethea of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.

Terry Russell is the CEO of FrontDoor Communities, and he has been in the homebuilding industry for 30 years.

FrontDoor Communities was started as a feed management company during the housing downturn, which has helped them to solidify a presence in the Charleston, Naples and Orlando housing markets.

Their first Atlanta project is located in South Forsyth, and it will have 420 homesites and 184,000 square feet of commercial space when completed. Called Traditions, this community will feature homes in multiple price points and on multiple lot sizes, as well as 12 parks, a swimming pool, tennis courts and other cutting-edge amenities that emphasize the use of outdoor spaces. FrontDoor will be working with another Atlanta builder, The Providence Group, and a professional architect to make sure the community is well-designed.

For more on other Atlanta projects coming soon from FrontDoor Communities, listen to the full podcast. To sign up for the Traditions mailing list, visit the FrontDoor Communities website.

Chattahoochee RiverkeeperOur next guest is Atlanta native Sally Bethea, who is the executive director and a riverkeeper with the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper.

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is one of 200 waterkeepers around the world. Founded in 1994 with the help of Ted Turner’s foundation, the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper takes a whole watershed approach to protecting our river, which flows from above the mountains in Helen, through Atlanta and to the borders of Alabama and Florida. Sally emphasizes the fact that the river is a sum of all its tributaries, which is why their watershed approach is important. The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper itself is involved in monitoring the waters of the river and its tributaries, educating the public, researching, completing policy work and more all to keep our state’s main water source clean.

To find out how you can get involved and what you can do to help keep the Chattahoochee clean, listen to the full podcast! For more information, visit www.Chattahoochee.org.
