Atlanta Housing Fares Better than Rest of Country

Atlanta’s housing price decline is less than half of the national average. This data from the S&P/Case-Shiller Index — a composite of 20 metropolitan areas nationwide, including Atlanta. This is great news for Atlanta home owners, home buyers and home builders.

According to the report, which tracks single family home sales, prices in the 28-county Atlanta area slid 4.8 percent. This reinforces that the market is definitely at its lowest point and that Atlanta real estate will soon see brighter days!

By contrast, around the country housing prices fell 10.7 percent from January 2007 to this January.
