Resident Committees Help Keep Heron Bay Running Smoothly
It takes a lot to keep an Atlanta golf community such as Heron Bay running smoothly. In 2003, after the community was formed, several residential volunteer committees were initiated by the Heron Bay Community Association Board including the Positive Standards Committee, Safety/Pool Committee, Community Liaison Committee and Social Activities Committee. That’s a lot of committees! Heron Bay Golf and Country Club Community Association recently inducted new members to to these four committees.
To give you an idea of what these committees are like, lets look at the Safety/Pool Committee. Members work closely to ensure the safety of the community by investigating policies and suggesting policies to the Heron Bay Board. They focus on safety surrounding activities at the three swimming pools, the Lakefront Park as well as the sports field and tennis courts. Each community has specific tasks to work on but all the committees work toward the common goal of bettering Heron Bay and distinguishing it as one of the top master-planned communities in the Atlanta area.
The committees work in all kinds of ways not only to make the community safe but to bring everyone together through social activities. They have put many events together in the past like Annual Holiday Parties, Community Wide Garage Sales and Dive-in Movies just to name a few. This is a great way to meet new neighbors, make new friends and enhance overall enjoyment of living at Heron Bay. Of course it’s not all social events. Various seminars are planned throughout the year to address topics that need to be discussed.
