Atlanta Board Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer

On Saturday, May 10, 2008 over 140 members, family and friends of The Atlanta Board of REALTORS® walked, ran and raised money for the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Atlanta Race for the Cure at Atlantic Station. Currently, ranked the # 5 Corporate Supporter in the Metro area, ABR raised over $11,000 for breast cancer research. This was ABR’s first year participating and what a tremendous achievement. “One of my goals for 2008 is to unite our members, friends and families to participate in this event to raise money to help find a cure for this terrible disease. Realtors are about much more than bricks and mortar. We are about families and communities, and giving back,” stated Scott Simpson, President of ABR.
Seventy-five percent of the money raised will be awarded locally to bring much-needed education, screening and treatment to our Greater Atlanta service area. The remaining twenty-five percent will be used to fund national research in the quest to find a cure for breast cancer. For more information on Susan G. Komen for the Cure, click here.
