One of the most unique and anticipated events that takes place on the Atlanta BeltLine is here – the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade! Held this Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, the event kicks off the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine exhibit. The glowing recession of light, music and colors carries thousands of participants throughout the two mile length of the Eastside Trail, from Irwin Street to Piedmont Park.
The parade lineup and tailgate begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday with the actual procession starting at 8:30 p.m. The Lantern Parade is free and open to the public, and it will culminate with a relaxing evening in the grassy lawn outside Park Tavern.
Art on the Atlanta BeltLine is the city’s largest temporary public art exhibition, and it is a testament to the Atlanta BeltLine as a living, breathing entity that is more than just trees, trails and rails. The exhibit showcases the work of hundreds of visual artists, performers and musicians along nine miles of trail, and it touches nearly 20 intown communities. The temporary exhibits will begins this Saturday, Sept. 6 and continue through October. To see the full schedule of events, click here. For more information, visit www.Art.Beltline.org.
