Adopt a Duck! Flammer PR Sponsors Local Non-Profit
It’s that time of the year again, when thousands upon thousands of yellow rubber ducks will float as quickly as they possibly can down the Etowah River with hopes of making their adoptive owner a big winner. It’s the annual Duck Derby, which is the main fundraising event for Advocates for Children, and Flammer Relations, Inc. has teamed up with the non-profit organization with hopes of bringing a greater awareness and participation to the Duck Derby. A high goal has been set this year as Advocates for Children hopes to have 30,000 ducks adopted! The Atlanta Public Relations firm is working hard to help them reach that goal. Duck adoptions are open now for the May 17, 2008 derby. You can adopt one duck for $5, get a “Quack Pack” of six ducks for $25, a “Surfer’s Dozen” of 13 ducks for $50, or become a VID - very important duck - for $250, which includes 50 ducks, Big Kahuna status and preferred parking at the derby. If your duck is the first to cross the finish line, you win a 2008 Kia Spectra, courtesy of Terry Reid Kia. For second place, the adopted owner wins a 60″ Sondy HDTV, making your home the place to be for any game day. A Suzuki Dirt Bike goes to third place; a lariat-style pearl necklace from Atkins Jewelry of Acworth is the prize for fourth place, and fifth place wins a La-Z-Boy recliner. For the slow poke that crosses the finish line last, you win a one year membership for two to Gold’s Gym of Cartersville. For those that don’t finish the race in a winning slot, don’t think that you will be left out because over thirty prizes will be awarded throughout the day to random ducks for random reasons. So, adopt some ducks and visit the Riverside Day Use area in Cartersville on Saturday, May 17, with festivities beginning at 10:00 a.m., to cheer your duck on in hopes of being a big winner. And remember that every adopted duck supports Advocates for Children, a non-profit organization that provides safety and comfort to troubled or abused youth of North Georgia. This is an exceptional cause, which Flammer Relations, Inc. is proud to sponsor.
