Active Adult Neighborhood Opens in Laurel Canyon
Nestled in the beautiful foothills of north Georgia is a 330-acre community where active adults live life to the fullest. On Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m., this exquisite community, formerly known as Seasons at Laurel Canyon, unveils a new look, a new name and a new way of living for those 55 and older.
The public is invited to experience the luxury lifestyle and enjoy a day of fun, including a live performance by the Swingin’ Medallions, dancing, food, festival activities including a magician, caricature artist and palm reader, door prizes and guided tours of the new model homes. The public is welcome to this free event which runs from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Guests are asked to RSVP to FestivalEvent [at] ActiveLifestyleCommunity [dot] com.
Laurel Canyon is a master-planned community near Canton, Ga. Residents of the active adult neighborhood enjoy a low maintenance lifestyle where lawn care, a manned security gate and home security monitoring are included in their monthly association fees. Without home maintenance worries, neighbors have more opportunity to mingle at the 28,000 square foot clubhouse which includes a heated indoor saline pool, a billiards parlor, a gourmet teaching kitchen, a fitness center and aerobics studio, a beautiful library, two card rooms and an arts and crafts studio as well as a performing arts center, outdoor amphitheater, outdoor lagoon-style pool, six clay tennis courts, walking trails, a greenhouse and a neighboring golf course.
Richard Peterson, a current homeowner, explains the many reasons he enjoys this unique community, “We chose Laurel Canyon to be near Atlanta and our children, but most importantly to live with a group of active, interesting neighbors. The community exceeded our expectations and is a great place to live.”
There are more than 50 resident-run clubs within this active adult community including Les Marmitons, a national culinary organization for gentlemen and the Laurel Canyon Garden Club.
Les Marmitons was founded in Europe and the Laurel Canyon chapter is one of the only local chapters. Members were attracted to the wonderful gourmet kitchen facilities at the clubhouse.
For those with a green thumb, the outdoor garden plots and beautiful greenhouse imported from England are draws. The areas are being prepared for fall planting under the guidance of the Laurel Canyon Garden Club.
