50+ Housing Council Hosts “Creating a Lifelong Community”
Mark your calendars and go ahead and register for the first event in 2010 from the 50+ Housing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, “Creating a Lifelong Community.” Anyone even remotely involved in the active adult market of the Atlanta real estate industry will find this seminar to be beneficial.
The speakers – Cathie Berger, Director of the Area Agency on Aging at the Atlanta Regional Commission, and Laura Keyes, Manager of ARC’s Community Development Unit in Area Agency on Aging Divisions – will go in detail about the results of a nine-day workshop from the Atlanta Regional Commission. In this workshop, the ARC partnered with Duany, Plater-Zyberk & Company, an internationally-recognized town planning and architecture firm, to design master plans for five specific communities in metro Atlanta. These plans were created specifically with the active/older-adult population in mind, but also offers features that benefit people of all ages. Basically, these are communities that you will be able to call home throughout your lifetime – a lifelong community.
By attending the February 4th event, you will be among the first to get specific details about the plans for these five communities and have an exclusive insight into the future of the Atlanta active adult market. The event begins at 10:00 am on February 4, 2010 and will conclude at noon. The ARC is providing the location – the C level amphitheater of the Loudermilk Center. The event is sponsored by AARP.
The cost is only $25 for 50+ Housing Council members and $30 for non-members. The registration deadline is February 1st, so don’t delay in reserving your seat for this fantastic event. Register online.
