2009 Mentor Program from ULI Atlanta Underway
Planning is underway for the 2009 Mentor Program of ULI Atlanta. Now in its fourth year, the mission of the Program is to foster an exchange of professional ideas, friendship, guidance, and expertise among members of ULI’s Young Leaders Group and industry veterans.
This program matches these young professionals (mentees) with experienced professionals (mentors) for guidance and support as well as sharing of lessons learned and personal experiences. The program offers mentors an opportunity to strengthen ties with the young future leaders of the local real estate community as well as gain valuable insight in an informal environment as to what drives young real estate professionals. The vast majority of ULI Atlanta Young Leaders have not experienced the current challenging real estate environment, and now more than in past years the advice of a seasoned industry professional will be invaluable.
The Atlanta Mentor Program is designed to run for six months and will kick off with an informal happy hour event in April and will run through September. Within this period, mentors and mentees will ideally meet monthly for breakfast or lunch. ULI Atlanta will designate a special event for participation by both mentor and mentee during the program period. It is the responsibility of the protege to initiate contact and set all meetings, but it is at the discretion of the mentor as to the frequency and amount of his or her participation in the program.
This is an exceptional program and a great opportunity for any young professional in the Atlanta real estate industry. Having important contacts is an integral part in professional success. Be sure to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Those interested in being either a mentor or a mentee can email Jim DerMinasian at jderminasian@jhdra.com for more information.
